Marazion and Saint Michael’s Mount

After an evening of games playing, the four of us set out for Marazion. The weather was worse than iffy with rain, drizzle and mist obscuring our view at Boscadjack. But we hit lucky. The weather wasn’t good, but we could see perfectly well.

We parked and made our way along the sandy beach at Marazion with Saint Michael’s Mount in full view.

People who know the Mont Saint Michel in Normandy find St Michael’s Mount a bit small. It is lesser in stature and not quite so dramatic but it has a real charm.

The beach had a thin scattering of people. Here we are looking around the bay towards Penzance.

A cheerful chappy rushed into my carefully posed picture.

A pair of walkers pose on the causeway. The tide was low enough for a dry walk to the ‘island’.

A pleasing terrace looks back over Mount Bay.

Approaching St Michael’s Mount.

Penzance and Newlyn lie beyond the dinghies and the harbour wall on the island.

Yes, we were getting there.

That’s the view back across the causeway and back to Marazion.

We arrived on the island.
