The chapel at Tobha Mor proved a rich source of photos, many with the muted colours of Uist to enjoy.

That could almost convert instantly into a Harris Tweed jacket of 40 years ago.

The ironwork around a family tomb looked a bit intrusive and had done nothing to preserve graves.

The lichen and growth on the wall have those Harris Tweed colours again.

The growth of lichen was just wonderful.

Of course, the sombre skies might have helped the Harris Tweed effect – and the walls, as we can see, did support some brightly coloured flowers.

But mostly, and beautifully, it was those gentle and subtle colours in a wide variety of tones and shades.
