The Dungeness fisherman we talked to was a bit sceptical about this boat – but did say it was actually quite a decent machine.

This boat is Rye registered, very new, and in the £100 000 class. But it still needs some old push and pull technology to get it in and out of the sea.

She is called ‘Kingfisher’ and is a catamaran.

The glory of Dungeness. I love it, mess and all.

The great thing about having two photographers is that whilst one, so to speak, had taken the low road, another had taken the high road, coming across this rather unlikely post, road cone and ladder.

There’s another photographer, clearly pondering a close up – or maybe he has just found something.

Maybe it was a shell.

Or perhaps just fishing debris

Perhaps it was a pulley on a boat tugging system.
Or maybe a cabbage!

There’s more to come from the strange wilderness of Dungeness.
