Back to Camp

We enjoyed chatting with our French fellow passengers. The London family on the long tour of  Scotland seemed a bit gobsmacked about talking another language but it all seemed ok to us.

We reached Fort William  where I dithered on the coaches so that I could see our loco run round the carriages.

The overnight sleeper train was in the charge of a class 67 diesel loco.

We decided Ben Nevis may have been this mountain, visible between houses.

This bridge had been built for the road but on the site of an old railway bridge. It made a great short cut, saving a dozen miles around Loch Creran.

Mind you, the old route would have given us more mountain views – and they were stunning.

Mountains around Loch Creran.

We crossed the Connel bridge, got through Oban and reached our tent after a grand day out.

The light was good on the campsite

It must be time to say goodnight.
