Around the Laggan Circuit as Night Fell

We had enjoyed a fabulous day on the island of Luing.  We had done very little motoring, but now we were nearly out of petrol. The station on Seil, by the ‘Bridge over the Atlantic’ had run out of the vital essence but we made it back to Oban OK and filled up, for the first time since Lanark, at Tescos. We did a bit of shopping and had a very pleasant chat with a Luing resident who recognised us from the show at Toberonochy.

Having got back to our tent at Laggan, we decided to walk around the circuit, first by Kerrera  Sound. The light was fading as we went.

A buzzard circled over the hills.

Kerrera was now a black zone between the reflecting sea and the lighter sky. There was real blue sky so a setting sun generated tinges of pink.

I could pretend this was a mighty islet, taken from high above. Actually, it’s about a metre high at most.

The lonely sea and the sky.

We climbed up into the hills above the Kerrera ferry quay.

Soon after a deer ran across our field of view. It was getting dark and deer move fast but both of us commented on the red colour so we think it was a red deer.

It is definitely somewhere in that photo but it must be well hunkered down.

We passed by that beacon, which I believe communicates with Mull, at the end of what had been a really lovely day. Strange that a day that started so unpromisingly with me taking videos of rain on the tent roof became one of the absolute best.
