The Ferry back to Oban

It had got cloudy and there had been odd bits of drizzle. The gulls didn’t seem to mind and clearly hoped for some free food by following the ferry. Some passengers did hold up food for gulls to grab with the ever resourceful herring gulls always outdoing the wary black backed ones.

Maybe a free ride was all that was wanted – or perhaps a bit of site seeing.

We passed the Lismore light.

Zoomed right in you can make out a man painting it.

One could get to know the gulls as individuals. None came with the ship all the way. They seemed to have areas which were theirs and at the edge of them they gave up the chase and flew back, whence they had come.

We had done the same, bar for the three mile walk back to the tent for our last night in Scotland
