A Good Walk

We found ourselves on the North Cornish Coast at Hell’s Mouth.

It was a delightful location and the weather had turned out pretty good, too.

It was definitely time for a walk.

We set off in what I suppose we’d call a westerly direction – towards Lands End. Not that we intended to get that far for that was some 20 miles away in a straight line. Our target was a more modest distance. It was about one and a half miles away as the crow travels and rather more by the coast path.

Let’s go.

But let’s go slowly so that we can enjoy what there is to see.

A delightful heather-mixture.

We could enjoy birds as well. The Cornish cliff tops are really good for raptors.

What a wonderful colour in the sea.

And there’s an early glimpse of places we were heading towards. On this side of the water is the Hayle Towans. Across the sea we are still looking at mainland Cornwall – near St Ives.

Our way ahead was pleasantly rounded.

Looking back to where we had come from – and we could see right back to the Bassett monument on Carn Brea.

Foreground flowers. It’s gorse of course.

Cliff top fox gloves as we rounded a headland. We could begin to see our planned destination – the mainland close by Godrevy Island.
