We dined well on a picnic. I had forgotten the Scottish penchant for macaroni cheese pies. They, and tasty steak pies could be bought very cheaply in the Oban Tescos and as we had a fridge in the tent we could keep them easily. And we had ample cucumbers, brought from home so a picnic had all the makings of a well balanced meal.
We had walked quite a long way, so we were ready for the feast, but we still had to traverse the south of the island where, once again, we could see across to the mainland.

There were further scattered cottages and little bays with views to Mull.

The sea was a little choppier here – more akin to the open Atlantic
but sheep still found gentle grazing.

In the distance we could see a castle which we planned to visit.

Rowan and fuschias. We must be getting civilised.
We were for we approached Gylen.
