Toberonochy

Toberonochy seems far removed from wild and desolate Cullipool with its deep slate quarries. It is on the east coast of Luing and gives every impression of being settled in its little wooded valley. Off shore is the island of Shuna and then higher and distant is the Scottish mainland

The grass looks good too so no wonder there are odd barns scattered around where hay might be stored.

We approached the village and soon we were in it.

It had the familiar terraces of whitewashed cottages under slate roofs.

Toberonochy has a harbour area. These days there are yachts. Once it was a slate exporting point.

Toberonochy and its harbour area.

More cottages, some with fine flowers.

There was definite blue sky. The day had come good as we approached 3 in the afternoon.

A well decorated Toberonochy boat. We admired the way the planter had used tall flowers to make a cabin at the back.

It was time for a quick visit to Luing show
